Synopsis

The series describes the adventures of a race of tiny people who live in a unproblematic hamlet in Foothill Forest. It focuses in particular on a grouping of children: Lillibit, Willibit, Snagglebit, Fleck, and Browniebit. Snagglebit, the spoiled son of the mayor, is enamored of the beautiful Lillibit, but she's best friends with Willibit, the moral part model and main protagonist. Thus, fifty-fifty though they generally go along well, Willibit and Snagglebit often barrel heads, especially over Lillibit. Snagglebit usually pals effectually with the brusque-in-stature Browniebit, who is something of a coward (and is often teased by Snagglebit for this), and Chip, who idolizes Lillibit's uncle, Dr. Snoozabit, and wants to be a doctor like him.

Another oftentimes recurring child character is Teenybit (Willibit'due south younger sis), who befriends Scarybit, an sick-tempered, superstitious old adult female assumed to exist a witch and shunned by most of the other villagers. Teenybit tin see that, nether Scarybit's tough outside, she's just a alone old lady who needs a friend.

The children are watched over past, and ofttimes scolded by, the older Littl' $.25 including the doctor Dr. Snoozabit, the wood-cutter Chopabit, the baker Bakeabit, Willibit'south male parent Grumpabit, Helpabit, the elder Elderbit, Mayor Bossabit (Snagglebit'south father), and others. Snoozabit has a tendency to beverage besides much, forcing his immature niece, Lillibit, to watch out for him and practice her best to keep him on the right track (In the American version, Snoozabit'southward drunkenness was rewritten equally being constantly sleepy and needing a nap, hence his English proper name).

Dr. Snoozabit has raised Lillibit since her infancy, and has ever told her that her birth parents died shortly after she was born. Not having a female parent and begetter around occasionally depressed Lillibit, especially when she observed her friends having fun with their parents. However, in the 2d-to-last episode of the series, it was revealed that Lillibit'south parents were in fact alive and were "Wanderbits" (descendants of the "Builderbit" race who were exiled from Foothill Wood for how they treated the animals who rose up and about collection them to extinction). In the terminate, the villagers decided to permit them to stay in Foothill Forest, and Lillibit and her parents were joyously reunited - simply in time for a devastating earthquake to ravage Foothill Forest in the last episode, forcing the villagers to band together to rebuild.

When they're non involved in politics (for example, one episode in which they attempted to get their blah fellow villagers to vote on election twenty-four hour period), the children spend much of their time exploring and interacting with the animals of the woods, both friendly and unfriendly, including raccoons, bears, bullfrogs, squirrels, fish, and horses. Lillibit tin even speak directly with animals. They ofttimes take advantage of their animal friends for transportation, especially Snuffly the flying squirrel and Blue the hedgehog.

The evidence consort harmony between man beings and the animal kingdom. The plot in every episode of the evidence had an of import lesson for the young audition - amongst the important issues which were addressed in the serial, were responsibility, patience, prejudice, hard work and the value of family and friends.[2]
